Emotional Freedom Technique - BreakthrougHub

Emotional Freedom Therapy

The tapping technique which can be applied to anything, from emotional pain to physical pain, releasing "short circuits" from your energy system.

IN A NUTSHELL

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) or “emotional acupuncture” is one of the most common applications of Energy Psychology. Our body is composed of energy pathways and it is believed that a traumatic event may cause a blockage in these energy pathways. These blockages then cause a traumatic event to be continuously brought to the consciousness. This can in turn cause a disturbance in your moods, emotions, or behaviors as long as this energy stays “trapped” in your mind-body system. EFT is incredibly quick and effective compared to traditional talking therapies in getting to the root cause of the problem.

WHAT DOES IT HELP WITH?

EFT can help you with trauma, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, phobias, fears, stress, addictions and obsessive-compulsive behaviors.
It is used for treating physical pain as well, such as back and neck pain. It is also used in peak performance coaching.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

It is believed that the rhythmic tapping of specific Meridian points can release the energy that gets stuck in the limbic system and is thus causing blockages within a certain neural pathways. It restores the normal flow of electrochemistry.

WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE?

EFT involves mechanical tapping of certain meridian points while “tuning into” the problem to be resolved or goal to be achieved and uttering positive affirmations. It can also be used as self-help once learned.

HOW QUICKLY IT WORKS

Usually a simple issue or challenge can be resolved within 2-3 sessions. Deeply rooted and complex issues that may present several aspects (quite often during a session itself) and take longer, or related challenges that need to be resolved may surface.

WHAT DOES IT NOT INVOLVE?

It does not involve being put in a hypnotic state during a session.
